Amos Ben Meir

President

Amos is currently an active angel & venture investor in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is passionate about technology, business and the entrepreneurial ecosystem as it relates to start-ups, venture capital and angel investing.  

Amos is a current and active member of Sand Hill Angels and   Silicon Catalyst Angels. Amos serves as a Board Officer at Sand  Hill Angels and a Board Director at Silicon Catalyst Angels. As an angel/venture investor, Amos looks to invest and work with  great founding teams that are harnessing cutting-edge technology  to deliver great products and services and that will result in  significant outcomes for all stakeholders.

Prior to Amos’s angel & venture investing career, he was involved  in six startups, either as an early employee or founder. Four of the  startups had successful outcomes and two failed. Amos has held  Director and VP Engineering positions during his entrepreneurial  career. During these roles, Amos built and managed large  engineering teams. This experience in the start-up world has  driven him to stay involved in the San Francisco Bay Area start-up  eco-system as an investor in start-ups and mentor to entrepreneurs.  In addition, Amos holds various board director, observer, and  advisor positions in companies where he is an active investor.

Since 2012, Amos’s startup investment portfolio has grown to  more than 350 portfolio companies.

Michael Joehren

Board Member

System architect and technical marketer Michael Joehren spent more than two decades working in technical marketing and system architecture in various positions in NXP Semiconductors, both in Germany and the US and Dialog Semiconductor, Renesas and Qualcomm in the US. He is involved in various aspects of system and product architecture, as well as standard specifications such as MIPI-I3C, Jedec DDR5-DIMM and USB-PD3.0 and now working around Wi-Fi, BT and UWB connectivity. Michael holds an electrical engineering degree from University of Dortmund, Germany and is the author/co-author of several patents.

Dr. Raúl Camposano

Board Member

Raúl is currently the CTO of Silvaco. He is also a partner at Silicon Catalyst, an incubator for semiconductor solutions, and lectures on EDA and Machine Learning Hardware at Stanford. He was previously an advisor to Applied Materials and the CEO of Sage Design Automation acquired by Applied in 2020. He was also CEO of Nimbic, acquired by Mentor Graphics in 2014. Raúl spent most of his career with Synopsys, where he served as Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice President, and General Manager. Prior to joining Synopsys, he was Professor of Computer Science at the University of Paderborn, and a Research Staff Member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. He was elected a Fellow of the IEEE in 1999 and to the board of directors of ESDA (aka EDAC, the EDA Consortium) in 2012. 

Laura Swan

Treasurer and VP of Business Operations

Laura Swan serves as Vice President, Operations at Silicon Catalyst Angels. She is an Investor with Sand Hill Angels and a founding Investor/Advisor of The Batchery and a Managing Partner at Silicon Catalyst.  Laura  has a thorough understanding of the engineering development process (functional specification, system/architecture design, development, testing, and deployment) based on her software/firmware development experience.
